Membership is available not only to jujitsu schools but also to related martial arts including: aikido, aiki jujitsu, Brazilian jiu jitsu, hapkido, and kenpo.
Associate membership is available to all qualifying schools that complete an application. Once accepted as an 'associate member school' the school may choose to apply to become a ‘member school’ by providing satisfactory evidence of:
- Current grade, personal grading history and lineage for the head of the school in Australia or the agreed delegate of the school.
- Details of a formal structure that may be a constitution or rules of conduct.
- Satisfactory ‘rules of grading’.
- A coaching and grading curriculum detailing the assessment criteria for each grade level awarded by the school.
We are keen to address any questions you may have before submitting an application for membership. Inquiries are most welcome. Please also see the note below re distribution of applications.
Once your questions are answered complete the electronic application form and return to the AJF, or download a PDF Form and post back to the AJF together with the current joining and affiliation fee. Thank you.

School Joining Fee (including affiliation for current year to 31st March) $150.00
Annual Affiliation — Due on the 1st April each year:
- Principal school $100.00
- Each Branch location $ 50.00 (this fee may be subject to discounting)
REMEMBER … individual members of your school are not required to pay a membership fee to the Federation!
Note. Your completed Membership Application may be distributed to member schools for comment - should you have a concern about the distribution of your information please advise of your concern when emailing or returning the completed form.
