World Ju-Jitsu Titles Las Vegas USA

 

Congratulations Team Australia: 2 Gold Medals, 1 Silver Medal, 1 Bronze Medal

  • Matthew Cugola (Team Captain) … Attained a GOLD MEDAL in the Individuals Grappling Weight Division PLUS a SILVER MEDAL in the individuals Sport Jujitsu Weight Division
  • Larry Papadopoulos … Attained a GOLD MEDAL in the individuals Grappling Weight Division
  • Moti Ram … Attained a BRONZE MEDAL in the individuals Grappling Weight Division
  • Graham White and Conrad van Dort … put up valiant efforts and displays of sportsmanship, however were forced to retire after they both received injuries competing in the Country Teams Division

The gold medal for the Country Teams Division went to the Republic of Ireland, and the gold medal for the Demonstration Division went to England

 

  • Vince McCann … took on the role of providing first aid care throughout the event
  • Roger Quick – Australian Director and WCJJO Vice President … was awarded a special award in appreciation for his contribution to the WCJJO and in the redrafting of the WCJJO Tournament Rules

Special thanks also to Jim Stackpoole and Gordon Griffiths with the preparation of the Team, and very special thanks to Colin McManus who was to be the Team Captain however had to withdraw prior to departure to USA due to injury.
